COVID-19 and Life

I mean living in 2020 is the hardest and strangest part of my life thus far. Its forever a struggle for me to find a balance where I do not burn out. I did a vlog for 100 days and these blog posts for 20 weeks but I decided early on I was only going to do posts if they were easy and enjoyable.  These posts have become work and I need a creative break. I still have my Facebook and Instagram if you would like to keep up with my day to day. Stop out there and stay in touch. xoxo emily

COVID-19 Self Distancing Week 19 Recap

I did not forget this week I have just been so busy. I am on vacation for a couple days so perfect time to catch you up on whats been going on with us in week 19 in the time of COVID-19. The weather was stormy last week so we had to creative with what we did.

Stella likes to bother me while I am working... daily.
Taking her afternoon nap by the door in the sun. This is now a daily thing after she eats at 4:30.
Someone got his motocycle. Check that off the bucket list.  It is a Royal Enfield the oldest motorcycle brand in the world.
Hi, bike. I like it because it is actually pretty quiet.
If she sits on my lap while I am working there is a 95% chance I am going to snuggle her face. You can tell she hates it.
We finished our work step challenge that lasted a month. Goal was 10,000 steps a day for me. Did it! Some days were a struggle but I made it happen.
I got a migraine and Stella secretly loves when that happens because she gets endless snuggles.
I got my air fryer from work for my 10 year anniversary. It was like 3 months later but who is counting time in the time of COVID-19 anyway. I first tried mushrooms and broccoli in there. A delight! I have since tried beets, potatoes, and cannot wait to try fish!
I shared another life tip to stop your glasses from fogging. Go get some fog gone from Amazon.
We babysat my mom/dad's dog Greta all weekend. She is a goofy ball of energy.
She really loves Ryan. LIKE is attached to him.
She loved swimming at the beach and hiking on Saturday.
Ryan cruised on his bike while Greta and I were chilling in the car the whole ride.
Had a wonderful bonfire and drinks Saturday.
ALL local burger to finish off the weekend. Maplewood meat burger meat, Lamers dairy cheese, CSA basket onions (farmers best) and Voyageurs Sourdough buns. The only not local thing is the relish and ketchup. Which I am sort of determined to find now.

I feel like time is still flying by but also somehow super slow at the same time right now. I hope we can continue to adventure locally and enjoy some of the summer still.

Until next time~

COVID-19 Self Distancing Week 18 Recap

I actually took some time to look back on my video blog up to day 100 yesterday. Time sure flies that is for sure. Like we are already at the end of July in this Pandemic. I am getting better with my anxiety of it all. Like I managed to see my parents at the beach while distancing and I went to the grocery store to see what that was like. Still not a fan of that I will continue to use Instacart for my groceries that is for sure. Here are some highlights from the past week.

Little Grandma cat (Stella) has a had a really rough go at it lately. She does not sleep well and is exceptionally grumpy and needy.
Hello giant meatball on whole wheat pasta and homemade sauce.

She decides some days to come sit on my lap and be grumpy when I move.

Ryan took a cooking class and he used this spice blend. It is now my favorite thing.
We went paddling on the bay. You need to be careful the weather can change on a whim and go from calm water to 1-2 foot waves in minutes.
We found a floatie on an island and Ryan towed it back to the boat launch. I totally used it at the beach later in the weekend.
We found the ice clouds truck!
I really have enjoyed random adventures we have had during COVID-19. We have really started to learn our communities better.

Someone loves being outside.
Ryan had his motorcycle class all weekend so I treated myself to Indian food while he was in class Friday.
Testing out bikes on Saturday AM.
Looking over the different bike models.
Went to the beach again Saturday. My parents joined me and it was really nice to catch up and see them. We socially distanced.
We have cucumbers. We are really proud because we planted everything from seed this year. I will need to can a lot of these.
The littlest diva.

This week is off to a quick start as well and we will see what adventures we see this week. Stay safe out there folks!

Until next time~

COVID-19 Self Distancing Week 17 Recap

It was a hot week again and really mentally draining thats for sure. By the time we got to last weekend I needed to unplug more from social media and recharge a bit. It was really nice to go on an adventure to Washington Island on Sunday. Here are some of the weeks highlights.

This lady loves to annoy her mama.
Ribs on a stick that I cooked from Maplewood meats.
We took the kitten to the park she loves exploring and does not mind being in her back pack.

But first... let's take a selfie at the park.

Wednesday was a hard day. I lost a coworker at work. We ate pizza and wings and honestly I need it badly to get back to center.
This cat. I am on a call. In this picture she has wrapped her head around my cord so we are like face to face stuck.
The sun goddess.
I trimmed my own hat and I am really happy how it turned out.

I made pancakes (whole wheat) with black currant jam (also homemade).
Fish stew from our farmers best delivery basket.
The beach! We sat way away from others and swam out far to get away from others. It was relaxing.
We stopped at the cutest drive in to get soft serve. Notice my mask hanging from my ear.
On a whim we went to Washington Island on Sunday. How cute is this mask my mom got me?
This is Stan my moped (I named him) and Ryans moped (Ricardo)
Stopped a coffee shop for lunch we were able to sit outside and enjoy our take out.
Cute plants at the coffee house.
Ryans Quiche.
On the Ferry! There were a lot of people but we managed to scare them out of our personal space and distance.
Such a fun day. Romantic too!
SMILE!
At little lake-- a lake on an island.
Hi.
At the lake. So pretty.

Our steeds for the day.
Lavender fields smelled so good.

The cool drying building at the lavender fields.
Lavender drying.
:)
The beaches are really pretty.
Beach bum.
The mopeds!
We did it!
hi!
I know we are silly. Had so much fun!

Take out dinner on the way home. The best burrito!
Had to have ice cream on national ice cream day.

I need to get better at being okay with random adventures like this. We had such a good day just exploring. It made up for the really bummer week I had with work and illness all week. Happy to be back on the mend now and feeling slightly recharged. :)

Until next time~
