COVID-19 Self Distancing: Week 6 Recap

WOWZER-- Week 5 recap here we goooo!!!

What I learned:
  • My cat is legit strange. Like she does not always sleep in the same places all day. Likes to lay in the sun randomly through the day and likes to do "yoga" with Ryan. Did I mention she stands on the back of Ryans chair now like a parrot. See picture below.
  • Not everything I attempt to make turns out well. Hoe cakes were edible but not good looking. I will continue to practice.
  • Take out Indian food was amazing!
  • I spent more time outside this weekend and "around" places were other people were more than any other time during self distancing. I have observed that people do not know what self distancing means nor are they respectful of other peoples space. This was concerning for me and I am going to have to get really comfortable asserting my bubble while in public if I need to. I did not have to do that at all thank goodness but I am mentally preparing for it. Also-- respect my mask wearing face it is here to stay. :)

A good fluffy sweater/ cute mug make the day awesome.

We had steak for dinner on... a Monday. It was awesome.

She likes to do this now. Weirdo!

We are addicted to my pickled jalapenos.

We were part of a birthday parade. Ryan wore a shark head and held this sign out of my sunroof!

I made old fashions finally after craving them for weeks.

I baked the cutest little chocolate chip cookies yesterday.

Chili dogs for dinner last night with my pickled jalapeƱos.
I am moving into this week with positivity. I challenge you to do the same!

COVID-19 Self Distancing: Week 5 Recap

Here we go! Last Thursday marked exactly 30 days I was self distancing. It also was the same day my governor extended our stay at home order for another month. Mentally it took a bit to wrap my mind around that and move forward with any sort of positivity. My allergies were also really bad all week. Today is the first day I am starting to feel human again. Hoping for warmer weather and allergy relief.

Some things I learned this week:
  • Meijer is the far superior Instacart place to order from. Festival took up to 5 hours up to a day and Aldi was for sure 2 days. Meijer I can order and have my items delivered in like 2 hours which is really quick. Festival was quick too  but not as many home products as Meijer.
  • I love experimenting in my kitchen right now. I am trying new recipes, making stuff from scratch and remixing my leftovers in to multiple meals. Example: Make a roast chicken, make chicken and dumplings and then used leftover dumplings for a pasta dish.
  • My cat really loves pumpkin and it is good for her. Now a staple in her diet. Helps with tummy issues she gets.
  • I sent in the check to get my car title. I will officially own my car soon. I learned that whole car buying process during a pandemic thing.
Picture recaps!

I made my own pizza crust.

The cutest coworker.

Made my own dumplings.

Chicken and dumplings a labor of love.

My coworker likes to beg when I am eating lunch.

We got enchiladas in our Farmers Best Delivery this week. yum!

Ordered fish from The Bar a local place on Friday night. It was soooo good. Tip you can reheat fries in the oven.

All local sandwich of bacon, eggs, cheese and local bread.

Weekend tea vibes.

Homemade lemon dressing

Hello local pork chop!

Kittens with bunny ears.

Roasted whole cauliflower with pasta sauce cheese topping.

Repurposed dumplings into smaller noodles for pasta.
I look forward to making homemade hoe cakes for tacos this week and celebrating Sawyer/Brandon's birthdays by driving by with a shark head on and hoking loudly this weekend. It's the little things right now that we can look forward too.

Until next time~

COVID-19 Self Distancing: Week 4 Recap

How has it been 4 weeks already!? This next week will be a full month since I have physically been around people.

Things I have learned this past week:

  • Even in these dark times of the pandemic we have new beautiful life. My best friends Liz and Brandon ( Sister from another mister) had their beautiful baby on Friday Brooks Elliot. I know that this little ray of sunshine was a reminder that life will find a way and we can make it through this. We also got to watch their dog for them for a couple days. Good boy Porter!
  • I learned how to cook so many things some of the recipes are on my Pintrest if you are interested some of the things: Carrot cake, pizza dough, potato soup, Oatmeal, Hasselback potatoes and an entire chicken just to mention a few.
  • Voting via absentee ballot is so easy.
  • I really love yoga.

My coworker.
