COVID-19 Self Distancing Week 10 Recap

WEEK 10! It was a milestone week with day 70 in here for self distancing. It was a jam packed week and weekend that was for sure. My head is spinning from all the house cleaning and projects we are working on.

Some things I learned:

  • I am bored with walking in my neighborhood so we have started walking in other neighborhoods by driving to them. I am learning about my city walk by walk.
  • I love cooking but need to fit in some more healthy meals upcoming to get us on track again. More grilling incoming.
  • I like biking to my meals lately its like a mini adventure. Bring a blanket and it is a picnic.

MMM-- I love supporting local. This is by a local place call UBU.

Migraine Monday sucked.

I am addicted to tea. Giant batch arrived.

Some of my plants are in full bloom.

Progress on my painting.

A cookie the size of my head.

Worst coworker begging.

WINE-- local. Yum.

If you do not drink in the tub you are wrong.

Star Wars and wine.

Cereal-- I never eat it and I just wanted it!

I have a NIKE addiction.

Pure sass.

Take out Ramen was heaven last week.

Tea is life.

OMG this picnic sandwich.

Be safe out there.

Curb side pick up!

The queen looking over her yard.

Vodka. Yes.

Home improvement is never ending. Working on our fence. Replacing fence posts.

Small cone!

Work in progress. Replacing posts, bleaching and painting.
Progress on the painting!

It was a whirl wind weekend with a ton of home improvement and home cleaning. I was happy to have off for PTO yesterday to relax. More to come on that with next weeks recap. Stay safe!

Until next time~

COVID-19 Self Distancing Week 9 Recap

How is already week 9 of this Self Distancing? It's just my new normal. While my state is opening back up and the weather is getting nice I am still here with my patient and wonderful husband staying isolated as much as possible. I am starting to feel the society pull to go out again to restaurants, bars and public places. Friendly reminder that is off the options chart for our family till I can be vaccinated or a decent treatment plan can be found. I know this seems extreme to some but please respect our decision. I respect yours too as long as it does not endanger others of course.

Here are some things I learned this past week and a photo recap!

What I learned:

  • You just cannot use lean meat to make meatloaf. YOU CANNOT do it people it dries out. Good ole' fatty beef is what is needed.
  • I love the new canoe and prefer to use my kayak paddle. Don't judge me it works awesome.
  • I will openly admit I like the Facebook memories feature. I like to see what I posted in past years it makes me happy.
  • Companies continue to support carry out and I can still get yummy eats for at home safe eating.

This is my favorite beer mug.

Stella continues to be an annoying coworker.

Blueberry malts are heaven.

Peas added to anything are awesome.

HEY GIRLS!

If you live in FL this is considered house shoes. Who knew?

Worst coworker ever.

PESTO on sandwiches.

Meatloaf is my ultimate comfort food.

We are not mowing our grass in May for the bees and honestly such crazy cool stuff is growing in my yard. my old neighbors must be freaking out by now.

New bar stools. Support local this case the amish!

DIVA.

SPORK!

Little Red-- replaced BIG RED and she is a great canoe. Easier to steer and more light weight.

The Oconto Rive is gorgeous.

Lamb burgers.

Progress.
Its been a busy week and week 10 is shaping up to be even more intense and interesting. Let's go!

Until next time~

COVID-19 Self Distancing Week 8 Recap

Last week was hard people. I am going to recap it by saying that we had major plumbing issues and we lost our cat for 3 hours. We rise above all that though and did some serious relaxation on Sunday to catch up with our energy being so low. I am not 100% recovered from the stress of last week and that's okay. I am working on it. Still need to tackle my lack of sleep lately. I have had some wicked insomnia.

What I learned:

  • Stella is more deaf that we originally thought. She went missing for 3 hours and my wonderful mom and friends came to help look for her. I found her on a chair in our basement after roaming around yelling for her for a LONG time. She is going to outlive us all and we will die from sleep exhaustion and stress.
  • My husband is really handy. I mean I would never ever attempt to break up concrete in my basement and find a valve in a pipe that needs to be replaced. If it was up to me I would be spending like thousands upon thousands to fix the issue. Ryan is on the hunt for parts right now. It is good it only messes with the bathroom in the basement and we can go back to using all our other bathrooms. Another handy thing he did was make a giant planter for veggies this year in our backyard. It looks great and will be super functional.
  • You can legit make pesto out of any greens and nuts. I have tried them all. This past week I used carrot tops and walnuts. It was a delight.
  • I am learning how to go out in public in a limited fashion. My anxiety still does not like it and I panic if people get too close to me but I did a curbside pickup for the mothers day flowers from a local green house and did not freak out once. I was full on mask and hand sanitizer the whole time but I did it! I don't plan on "going out" once things open up just an FYI this is just me trying to be okay with doing more curbside pickup stuff out of necessity. For me I take this self distancing seriously for my health and I will keep evaluating my boundaries weekly.

Star Wars day was last Monday. :) May the 4th be with you!

I had leftover chicken so I made chili.

Flowers on one of my walks.

I made homemade chicken broth. Super easy.

It was cinco de mayo and taco tuesday. I made cherry limeaid margs!

Classic tacos.

Doing some progress on this painting.

Ryan wore the shark head to a meeting.

Pesto time!

It is soooo good and made a lot.

Not a fan of the lamb chops but that pesto. yum.

DIVA

She was drama all day I should have known on TH she would run away.

Classy.

I did it I went to the green house!

Our flowers picked up from a local green house Werys.

OMG this cider was needed after the bathroom and cat drama.

Snuggles Friday with our drama queen.

Flowers in my garden.

YEY-- I made this. :)

Sushi for dinner Friday.

REALLY Stella I cannot see.

Ryan had to remove our linen closet and then beat through concreate with a sledgehammer to find the valve we needed to replace that was broken. See valve below.

The really crappy thing about a pandemic it is like super hard to source parts. Still no luck finding a replacement for this stupid thing. LOL

Supported local on Saturday.

TIP--- Press your tofu for 30 minutes before tossing in corn starch and baking at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes in the oven. SOOOO GOOOD.

Curb side pick up beer at Stillmank.

DIVA

I like a good beer collaboration. Had this while playing games with friends on ZOOM.

I am looking forward to this week being less drama filled and calm. Wish me luck!

Until next time~
