Polka Dots

Did some fun polka dots this week. Hint for amazing polka dots...shhhh don't tell, use a bobby pin end. Also using actual paintbrushes for touch ups helps.

Omg and I found the best top coat. Bought it at Ulta it is called Seche Vite and professionals use it. Best reviews out there. Picture attached.
Made my manicure last sooo much longer, days and days longer. Picture of nails attached is day three of wear.

Another nail hint to keep nails from chipping... Put a layer of topcoat (especially on the tips) every other day.

Happy nail painting!!

Cuddle Cat and Tomato Sandwiches.

I was going to post about yummy tomato sandwiches and my sneaky cat decided to cuddle on my chest (more like my face). Therefore, this is posted from my phone not my computer. So, you need the following: One tomato, Nice bread, balsamic, cheese (white cheese is the best for this),seasoning, and butter. Butter your bread, add tomato slices and a splash of balsamic. Top with cheese and fry in a pan. Try to eat without a cat on your chest! Yum!

Morning Tea

I have a soft spot for tea. Lately my Fiance has caught the tea "bug" and I have been able to injoy it even more. Do not get me wrong I am a Indian Chai girl every morning. Add some creamer and I am on my way. But, on the weekend or at night I like to brew the real deal. Not the little prepacked Lipon crap but actually loose tea you have to steep (another word for soak) tea for at least 5 minutes and drink in real china its so good!

I recieved this great tumbler ( Sorry I got it as a gift and I do not rememeber where they said they got it) and you just pour your steaming water over the tea in the little container built in and let it sit (steep) for 5-6 minutes. I usually add a little honey or sugar to taste and pour that tea into my fine china ( Grandmas tea cups make it taste better I swear) and BAM good Sunday morning.

I am actually drinking it RIGHT now. I hope you keep an open mind and try many kinds of tea. This morning I am drinking Orange Blossom YUM! Hence the pinky color.
Home Brewed Tea. Warms the soul.
I knew I would use my Grandmas tea set. No one believed me!

Re-stuffing Couch Cushions

Last night Ryan decided he was so over the couch cushion that has formed to my butt. We decided to re-stuff it. We are crafty why not?

How to do this~
Go to Joannes fabric. The foam filling is expensive. $72 to be exact. It was on sale for 50% off STEAL!

Make sure you measure before you go to the store. We reused the corner piece so we did not have to buy as much foam. Try to match the type of foam that is already in the cushion. Joannes had many types.

In the background you can see a hand saw perfect for cutting foam. I have included some great pictures we took as we did this below.

Overall this project cost us $40 due to the foam being on sale.

This was the old foam. As you can see it is pretty wore out.

Foam we bought after it was cut. Ryan is cutting the soft foam at this time to match up.
Used a saw!
Cut soft foam with a normal scissors. Used spray glue to adhere the soft foam to the thick blue foam.
Final foam compared to old foam. Amazing job we did!
Stuffing the new foam in.
Stuffing the foam in.
Final product.

Until next time~

Controlling Your Dog Using A Halter

Do you have an out of control dog like mine? I have found an answer, a doggie halter. It works just like a horse halter by controlling the dogs face. It is nice because they can still eat and drink while wearing it. Plus it is more gentle than the choke chains that no one EVER uses properly.
So, your thinking sounds great how do I use it?
I have included pictures of Luna's halter and how I apply it below, or watch this great YouTube video.

HiNts:
They will fight it a first, it's on their face.Thye do try to paw it off at first or rub their face on the ground. Perfectly normal. Do not freak out.
If you have applied it correctly it should not come off. Keep being patient and working with it!
Once you size it the first time you shouldn't have to ever again.
I got mine at petsmart, like $12.
TRY IT ITS AMAZING!!

This is what it looks like. Like the man in the video said a t-shape.

This is what it looks like once you pull the loop up. The loop goes around their face.
Loop around Luna's face and second picture completely wearing it. Ready for her walk!

Salad Shaker

I have been doing this for awhile and it is such a good idea I thought I would share. You ever make a salad for work and you think man I wish my dressing could be included in one container with my lettuce and not get nasty. Tada, I have a solution.

Put your dressing on the bottom and any toppings that are okay to be soaking.
Make sure your lettuce or greens (I love spinach) is at the very top!
Shake when ready to eat and enjoy!!!!
